Xochicalco Observatory Movie

What you're watching is a projection of the sun as it travels across the sky above the tall straight chimney of the observatory. At solar noon (the time when the sun is directly overhead), the sun shines directly and brightly on the "projection screen" on the ground below. (The solar noon frame is labeled, "noon.")

On a modem, it will take awhile to load. Each frame will appear as it loads. On some media players, you may have to tell it to play again after the whole file loads.
